Early life and background
Kiani resides in England with her mother, Khawar, who has been paralysed since 2006. In 2005, she adopted a son from Edhi Home, whom she named Naad-E-Ali, which means the qualities of Hazrat Ali.[3] "I need a child and the child (needs) a mother," she said when adopting the child.[4] On the same day Kiani made an official announcement of the adoption on the Geo News political talk show, Capital Talk. Later in 2005, Kiani married a UK-based Afghani businessman, Syed Fareed Sarwary.[5] Their Nikah was a private event and only very close family members were present at the occasion. However, the marriage did not work out and in 2008 Hadiqa filed for divorce.
